Dax Memorial Animal Rehabilitation and Resource Centre
Dax Memorial Animal Rehabilitation and Resource Centre (DMARRC) was formally inaugurated on May 18, 2009 by Ms Sheelarani Chunkath IAS, Chairperson, Tamil Nadu Industrial Investments Corporation Ltd in the august presence of Dr R Annamalai IFS, Director, Department of Environment, Government of TN, Dr S Chinny Krishna, Chairman, Blue Cross of India, Mr D Rajasekar IFS, Secretary, Animal Welfare Board of India, Fr Ratchagar SJ, Executive Director, Pondicherry Multi-purpose Social Service Society and Dr Susikaran Thangasami MD, Consulting Physician who generously provided the land for DMARRC.
The Centre maintained by the Care Earth Trust is dedicated to ¡®facilitate the rescue and rehabilitation of stray, sick and abandoned animals¡¯. Located at Plot No 7&8, Madurai Meenakshipuram, No 8, Iyyencheri Village, Oorapakkam 603 202 (Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu) the facility will:

Provide a range of onsite and outreach veterinary services by operating state-of-the-art mobile clinics
|

Provide shelter to old, injured and sick animals, especially birds and small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and others that cannot be rehabilitated and set free
|
|
Facilitate temporary shelter and care for pets whose owners are indisposed or away from home
|
|
Develop and disseminate information about dogs and other free-ranging domestic animals and about choosing and nurturing pets
|
 |
Provide one-to-one advise/counselling to people about the various aspects of pet adoption, care and management, longevity and commitment highlighting the fact that pets cannot be abandoned
|
